The Six Breathing Programs in CD II

Sending Solar Warmth

In this breathing program, you are guided to perform a series of deep breaths and connect with your center of Solar Warmth (located in your stomach/solar plexus area). You are led to feel your Solar Warmth traveling through your chest and shoulders, into your arms and down into both hands. This easy process guides you to relax and shut down your body's cortisol stress response, while also increasing blood flow to the skin to keep it looking young and healthy.

Scales of Justice Rebalancing

In this guided process, you see the Scales of Justice superimposed over your upper body (as described below). Then you are guided to perform deep breathing and let go of emotional stress. Step by step, you will be guided to experience each level of the Scales of Justice. This technique is excellent for guiding your mind and body to "turn off" your body's cortisol stress response and prevent excess belly fat and bulging waistline.

The Scales of Justice Symbolize Being in Natural Balance

  • The Vertical Pole - When your spine is in proper, healthy alignment

  • The Crossbar - When both your shoulders balance evenly

  • Two Suspended Cups - Left and right sides of chest are relaxed, calm and stable
Balanced Breathing - Breathing in an even rhythm that calms the body and emotions

Following The Waves

In this guided process, you stand before a beautiful ocean. First, you are led to watch the ocean's waves and follow their smooth rise and fall and flowing movement. As you follow their graceful motion, you feel your body relax and your emotions become calm. You are guided to listen to your inner inhalation and exhalation, and to follow the Waves of Breathing within you. This process brings healing relaxation, shutting down your body's cortisol stress response by guiding the mind and body to relax physical tension, reduce mental strain, calm the emotions and return to natural balance.

Healing Deep Breathing

This breathing process leads you to feel emotionally calm and physically at peace by guiding you to that calm center within. Experiencing stillness stops excess cortisol release and prevents extra belly fat by slowing heart rate, breathing rate, calming the nerves, quieting the mind and restoring natural balance.

Your Three Centers of Breathing Stimulated by This Process

  • Lower Torso - This center is stimulated by expanding your lower torso as you breathe in.

  • Chest and Lungs - This center is stimulated by expanding your chest and filling it with air.

  • Head - This center is stimulated by relaxing the jaw and opening the mouth wide as you breathe in. As you inhale, feel the air entering and filling the head. This process follows an even rhythm for each inhalation and exhalation. Follow its gentle rhythm. If you need to shorten or lengthen the rhythm, feel free to discover what is effective for you.

Slowing The Breath

In this guided process, you will be led to adjust the frequency of your breathing cycle by slowing down your breathing rate. As your breathing slows down, you will experience a release of physical tension, a reduction of "mental noise" and a calming of your emotional feelings.

By practicing this self-healing breathing technique, we can:

  • Slow down heart rate and reduce cardiac stress

  • Lower physical tension and relax the body - Reduce blood pressure

  • Calm down stressful sympathetic-nervous-system hyperactivity (anxiety, "the mental wheels that won't stop turning")

  • "Switch off" your body's cortisol stress response and stop it from causing extra belly fat and bulging waistline.

  • Stimulate the Thymus gland (the master gland of the immune system) and strengthen your body's immune response.

Connecting Inner Still Point

This breathing process leads you to feel emotionally calm and physically at peace by guiding you to that calm center within. Experiencing stillness stops excess cortisol release and prevents extra belly fat by slowing heart rate, breathing rate, calming the nerves, quieting the mind and restoring natural balance.
